About the Tug HIll Area

The Tug Hill area is a rural area that boasts of Milk Production, Logging activities, Maple Syrup production among others. There are 195 Wind Towers located on the Plateau. The immense size of these Towers is mind blowing; there are many Towers that you can be within 100 feet or less to get the feel on how big they really are. Since the area is very rural there are ATV Trails, Snowmobile Trails that are open to the public. A trail permit is required for the ATV Trails; these trails consist of both off road and on road trails. The Snowmobile trails are on seasonal unplowed roads and private/state lands. Please if you ride on these trails pick up after yourself and stay on the signed trail system. There are many great Restaurants in the area to eat lunch or dinner. If you like to just take a car ride in the summer there are many Scenic places to go (rivers, Enjoy the outdoors here in the Tug Hill area anytime during the year. Maple Ridge Wind Farm

The Maple Ridge Wind Farm  has 192 wind towers in the area. You have to see them to understand how large they really are.

ATV Trail System

There is 500 miles of Trails,open roads for ATV use in Lewis County. 

Snowmobile Trail system

There are over 600 miles of groomed snowmobile trails.

Trout Fishing

If you are a Trout fisherman/women this is the place for you . Whether you fly fish. spinner fish or just use corn there is lots of fishing here.

State Lands

There is hundreds of acres of state land for your enjoyment. Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, Bird Watching  and others are waiting just for you to explore.
